The secret rapture is based on a misunderstanding of the Bible.
The Secret Rapture revealed in the films Left Behind and the teachings of the charismatic churches in the world are based on a misunderstanding of the following Bible text in Matthew 24:36-42. But that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only. But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.
Then two men will be in the field: one will be taken and the other left. Two women will be grinding at the mill: one will be taken and the other left. Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming.
From the Bible text above the Secret Rapture movement teach that those who are taken, will be taken to heaven and be saved. Those who are left, are left behind and will be lost or have another chance to come to heaven.
What does the Bible say about this teaching?
A similar text to the one in Matthew 24:36-42 is in Luke 17:34-37. I tell you, in that night there will be two men in one bed: the one will be taken and the other will be left. Two women will be grinding together: the one will be taken and the other left. Two men will be in a field: the one will be taken and the other left.
Luke adds on an extra verse to clarify what he means with the word, “taken.” Luke 17:37. And they answered and said to him, “Where, Lord?” So he said to them, “Wherever the body is, there the eagles will be gathered together.”
When the disciples asked, “Where, Lord?” They were asking where will they be taken? To heaven or to destruction: And Jesus answers them, “Wherever the body is, there the eagles will be gathered together.”
The answer is, they will not be saved to heaven or have another chance to be saved.
What does the sentence mean, “Wherever the body is, there the eagles will be gathered together?”
The word eagle άετοί in the Greek can also mean vulture or birds of prey. The only reference to the word’s birds of prey in the New Testament is in Revelation 19:17.18.
Rev 19:17.18. Then I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the birds that fly in the midst of heaven, “Come and gather together for the supper of kings, the flesh of captains, the flesh of mighty men, the flesh of horses and of those who sit on them, and the flesh of all people, free and slave, both small and great.”
The only texts in the Old Testament related to this text in Rev 19:17.18., is in Ezekiel 39:1-6. And you son of man, prophesy against Gog, and say, “Thus says the Lord God: Behold I am against you, O Gog, the prince of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal; and I will turn you around and lead you on, bringing you up from the far north, and bring you against the mountains of Israel. Then I will knock the bow out of your right hand. You shall fall upon the mountains of Israel, you and all your troops and peoples who are with you; I will give you to birds of prey of every sort and to the beasts of the field to be devoured. `You shall fall upon the open field; for I have spoken, ` says the Lord God. `And I will send fire on Magog and on those who live in security in the coastlands. Then they shall know that I am the Lord. `”
Ezekiel 39:17-20. (the sacrificial meal). “And as for you, son of man,” thus says the Lord God, “Speak to every sort of bird and to every beast of the field: Assemble yourselves and come; gather together from all sides to my sacrificial meal which I am sacrificing or you, a great sacrificial meal on the mountains of Israel, that you may eat the flesh and drink blood. You shall eat the flesh of the mighty, drink the blood of the princes of the earth, of rams and lambs, of goats and bulls, all of them fatlings of Bashan. You shall eat fat till you are full, and drink blood till you are drunk, at my sacrificial meal which I am sacrificing for you. You shall be filled at my table with horses and riders, with mighty men and with all the men of war,” says the Lord God.
Ezekiel writes about Gog and Magog in Ezekiel chapters 38 and 39, but no one has ever found or even heard of these places. Archaeologists have never found a place called Gog or Magog. The only other text that mentions these places Gog and Magog is in Rev 20:8, and this is a prophecy describing the fall off Satan and the wicked nations of non-believers who are raised up at the second resurrection after the 1,000 years millennium. So, the context of Ezekiel chapters 38 and 39 fits in very perfectly with the text in Rev 20:7-9. Now when the thousand years have expired, Satan will be released from his prison, and will go out to deceive the nations which are in the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle, whose number is as the sand of the sea. They went up on the breadth of the earth and surrounded the camp pf the saints and the beloved city. And fire came down from God out of heaven and devoured them.
Furthermore, in Rev 19:19. And I saw the beast, the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him who sat on the horse and against his army.
The beast is a symbol of the papacy in the Roman Catholic church system. (See my website www.ayindk.com/ Rev 13:1-10). The kings of the earth are a symbol of all the leaders and governments throughout all the earth. (See my website www. ayindk.com/ Rev 17:12.13. They and their armies are gathered after the 1,000-year millennium, and after the second resurrection of the wicked; they are gathered together to make war against Christ and his army of angels and those inside the new city of Jerusalem. This all happens in Rev 20:7-9.
Rev 19:20. Then the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who worked signs in his presence, by which he deceived those who received the mark of the beast and those who worshipped his image. These two were cast alive into the lake of fire burning with brimstone.
Who is the beast and who is the false prophet in this text?

The lake of fire surrounding the earth appears when God in Rev 20:9.10. sends fire down from heaven. And fire came down from God out of heaven and devoured them. The devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet are.
This happens after the 1,000-year millennium and the second resurrection of the wicked non-believers.
Rev 19.21. And the rest were killed with the sword which proceeded from the mouth of him who sat on the horse. And all the birds were filled with their flesh.
The word sword in the Greek is ρομφαία. We have already studied about the word sword in Rev 19:15. This sword is used symbolically for death.
And all the birds were filled with their flesh is also symbolic of death.
What happened to all the billions of wicked non-believers surrounding the New City of Jerusalem after the 1,000-year millennium and the second resurrection?
They were all destroyed in the lake of fire which came down from God out of heaven and devoured them. Rev 20:9.
Therefore, the films Left Behind and the Charismatic movement all over the world have misunderstood the text in Matthew 26: 36-42. Those that are left behind according to the Bible will be lost and not saved.
